Shipments to Canada
Buying online from the United States for shipment to Canada has never been cheap. There's the cost of shipping, GST/HST, and customs duties on orders over CAD$150.
On top of that, we are now facing possible 25% tariffs on many goods crossing the border. What's subject to tariffs is potentially going to change day by day. The best we can hope for is some eventual stability.
We have to just tell it like it is.
When you order from us (or any US company), you'll pay the UPS shipping charge up front. However, when the boxes reach the border the Canada Border Services Agency is going to levy taxes, duties and tariffs -- which you will have to pay through UPS before the package is released for delivery.
In most cases, there will be 5% GST/HST (or a higher PST amount that is often able to be rebated) and duties depending on the item (many but not all of our products have been duty free in the past under the USMCA).
Now there's the prospect of another 25% tariff on many of our products. As of today, all our products are potentially subject to the tariffs. At least initially, products which are 100% vinyl (like our All-Clear covers) or wood (like some of our table stands) seem to be exempt. But we're not guaranteeing anything. The CBSA will have the final say when reviewing our shipments. If tariffs are in effect, you should expect to pay on any items containing your logo, or which are made with cardboard, paper, leather or leatherette (as most of our casebound products do)
Tariffs are charged based on what the rules are on the day the package reaches the border, not what they are on the day you place your order -- and that means what's true today may not be true when your order ships.
